National U-23 side, Dream Team VI head coach Samson Siasia has slammed the attitude of the foreign-based players to camp invitation ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics.
According to the team’s media officer Timi Ebikagboro, Coach Samson Siasia has vowed to continue preparations towards the tournament with or without the foreign-based players. He quoted Siasia as follows via Twitter:
“We are going ahead with or without the foreign pros, no player can hold us hostage.
The U-23 squad have already intensified preparations toward the Rio 2016 Olympics and are currently in camp in the city of Atlanta, United States of America. Invited foreign-based pros such as Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi, Godfrey Oboabona, Moses Simon and Kenneth Omeruo are however yet to report to camp.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group B at the Olympic. Games alongside Japan, Sweden and Colombia.
