Bauch Police Command have captured and arrested four individuals, suspected to have beaten a 70-year old lady to death for allegedly practicing witchcraft.

The lady was blamed for being a witchcraft before she was slaughtered on September fifth in Doka town, Bauchi Local Government Area.

As indicated by the Police representative of Bauchi State Command, Kamal Mohammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, made the affirmation in a meeting with newsmen in his office at the Police home office, Bauchi on Tuesday.

Mohammed said the suspects grabbed the deceased, Mrs. Liyatu Michael, and another elderly lady whom they both associated with witchcraft, took them to a house in the group and began beating them.

As indicated by a report by Punch, the suspects “on understanding that one of the ladies had kicked the bucket, they took her dumped her carcass in the patio.”

The other lady, distinguished essentially as Keziah, survived the beatings and is getting restorative consideration at an undisclosed doctor’s facility, Mohammed included.

He said the police are examining the conditions that prompted Liyatu’s passing, while the four suspects would soon be charged to court for blamable manslaughter.

It was assembled that inconvenience for the two ladies began after they supposedly admitted to being among “rehearsing witches” that had apparently “caused” numerous unexpected losses and mishaps in Doka people group.

Newsmen​ learnt that Liyatu, a mother of eight, and another elderly lady, Keziah, were gathered together by the young people at around 3.00am and consumed to a space where the two elderly ladies were whipped almost to death within the sight of their powerless youngsters and relatives.

The report expressed that the adolescents were particularly rankled that the team were professedly behind the grave ailment of a youthful housewife in the group recognized as Yelkon.

According To a Resident Of Doka who pleaded anonymity said “Yelkon has been bedridden and seriously sick immediately after she gave birth and we learnt that her illness was caused by the two women who confessed to have “tied her” in the coven and that she would be sick until she dies,”
