Mother of four Katy Bethel has been captured and imprisoned alongside her sweetheart Aaron for endeavoring to sneak 12 Vietnamese immigrants into Britain.

The couple, both 28, were halted on the fourth July 2015 at the Eurotunnel registration at Coquelles, close Calais, as they attempted to re-enter the nation with the stowaways covered up in the back of a Mercedes Sprinter van.

Border Force officers found the gathering of five ladies, four men and three youths less than 16 years old, covering up in cramped conditions inside piles of tires as Bethel and Harris sat in front.

Bethel was a half year pregnant with her most youthful kid at the time, and told officers they been going by France for a day outing to the shoreline.

Bethel, of Gillingham, Kent, sobbed in the dock at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, as Judge Philip Statman condemned her to two years and nine months as far as she participated in the crime.
