Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has pledged to capture the driving forces of the appalling homicide of resigned Major Lawrence Ugbo, a previous state Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who was killed and consumed at Ogobia, Ugboju District of Otukpo Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Ortom, who arrived alongside his delegate, Benson Abounu, and the Council Chairman, George Alli, embraced an on-the-spot appraisal of the scene of the crisis, likewise went to the home of the resigned military officer to mourn with his family.

Talking soon after, the senator said:  “The individuals who attempted to murder a man who battled for the solidarity of this nation in this way will positively not go unpunished.

“I can guarantee you that each one of the individuals who have been fingered in this emergency will be captured and rebuffed in like manner in light of the fact that it is extremely unlikely we will permit or endure this sort of primitive act in our state.”

The senior statesman was killed by equipped youths toward the end of last week in an extended emergency arising from the bitter rivalry between a previous Otukpo committee director, Ijachi Udenyi, who is of the APC and younger brother Benjamin Udenyi, a faithful follower of PDP.
