A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, group in The West, on Sunday rejected the candidacy of Bode George along with other aspirants vying for that party’s chairmanship stool.

The group referred to as Oodua PDP Alliance, while expressing its support for Uche Secondus, stated the geopolitical zone should look for another position within the party since the zone wasn’t the bottom of the PDP.

Inside a statement signed through the leader of the group, Hakeem Ogunsola, who’s one of the party leaders in Osun State, stated it might support Secondus, who offered because the chairman of the PDP National Working Committee between 2015 and 2016.

Ogunsola mentioned, “We wish to note that rebuilding the PDP and winning power in 2019 have to have a chairman with solid home base, deep experience and ability to face the ability of incumbency, we want Secondus to guide these electoral and political battles to save Nigeria and alter the fake change.

“How are you able to go for chairmanship when you will find better bargains to strike? How will you aspire to lead the party whenever your zone isn’t a stronghold of the PDP? We don’t want party chairman within the South-West. Let Secondus get it,Inches the statement read partly.

The group stated that it’d commenced advocacy and mobilisation for Secondus’ emergence because the PDP chairman, advocating the South-West aspirants to decrease their ambition and bargain for much better positions in government.

However, George had was adamant that through the experience that he’d received through the years, he continued to be the very best candidate for that position.

“We operate before with impunity without option towards the metabolic rate of the party. This time around, God willing, we’ll respect the metabolic rate. Our people should rest assured that the age of impunity has ended.

“Anybody who intentionally disobeys the party’s metabolic rate ought to be proven the yellow card. We must be committed and dependable towards the party’s metabolic rate,” George stated.
