Men of the Katsina State police on Sunday gunned lower a suspected cattle rustler throughout an exchange of fire along Sakwattawa-Shawere cattle route.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, disclosed the event inside a statement distributed around reporters in Katsina.

Isah stated “One Ibrahim Gai of Aidun Hassan Village within the Danmusa Municipality Area of the state had reported towards the police that some unknown cattle rustlers invaded their settlement at approximately 3.30am on October 23, 2017 and stole their animals.”

He stated people of Operation Sharan-Daji were dispatched towards the settlement and also the cattle routes in the region.

Isah added that the cattle rustlers, on sighting they, engaged these questions gun duel where a suspect died while his accomplices fled.

“One AK-47 with 16 models of live ammunition, two magazines, four cows and something Boxer motorcycle with chassis number 60927 were retrieved in the fleeing cattle rustlers,” Isah stated.

Law enforcement spokesman stated analysis had already commenced into the incident.
